2ch Forum's Anime Saimoe Tournament 2011 Group Finals

The Anime Saimoe Tournament is an annual poll in which users from Japan's 2channel message board vote on the most moe female anime character of the past year.
Almost any female character in a television anime, anime film, original video anime (OVA), or web anime released in Japan between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011 is eligible for the tournament. The main exceptions are characters from 18+ anime, who are not eligible.
Foreigners are technically capable of participating in the tournament; English-language instructions on how to vote have been provided by an Anime Saimoe fan site.
The third round results for groups A through H went as follows, with vote counts:

* Ruri Gokou - This year's Saimoe top eight have been decided and half of the remaining field are from Puella Magi Madoka Magica characters — Mami Tomoe, Sayaka Miki, Kyouko Sakura and Madoka Kaname. Erica Hartmann of Strike Witches 2 is the only returning competitor from previous Saimoe tournaments to make it into this year's elite eight.
Winners of the group competitions will go on to compete with characters outside of their groups in the quarterfinals beginning on October 28. Based on number of votes, the group winners are currently ranked as follows:

- Astarotte Ygvar - Astarotte's Toy & Ruri Gokou - Oreimo - 446
- Kyouko Sakura - Puella Magi Madoka Magica - 428
- Mami Tomoe - Puella Magi Madoka Magica - 427
- Madoka Kaname - Puella Magi Madoka Magica - 415
- Erica Hartmann - Strike Witches 2 - 377
- Squid Girl - Squid Girl - 342
Quarterfinals matches have also been determined and will be played out as follows:
- 10/28: Astarotte Ygvar vs. Erica Hartmann
- 10/29: Kyouko Sakura vs. Ruri Gokou
- 10/30: Madoka Kaname vs. Sayaka Miki
- 10/31: Squid Girl vs. Mami Tomoe
