Gunslinger Stratos Shooting Game Gets Anime Promo

Megumi Nakajima sings theme for game co-conceived by Fate/Zero's Urobuchi

A special anime promotional video for Square Enix's gun-shooting action arcade game Gunslinger Stratos was revealed at the live-streamed "Game no Dengeki Kanshasai 2013" event in Tokyo on Sunday. The video features the theme song "Transfer" sung by Megumi Nakajima and created by livetune's kz.

The video outlines the story in the year 2115, when the country once known as Japan was split into two alternate future powers — the lawless Frontier S and the totalitarian 17th Far East Capital Administrative Zone. The two possible futures begin to fuse into one, so each side battles to wipe out the other side and survive.

Yousuke Kabashima (The Girl Who Leapt Through Space) was in charge of the video's character designs and animation process at projectNo9. The cast includes Atsushi Abe, Hisako Kanemoto, Masakazu Nishida, Kana Ueda, Miyuki Sawashiro, Takehito Koyasu, Sayaka Ōhara, Souichiro Hoshi, Rikiya Koyama, Yumiko Kobayashi, Saki Fujita, Yousuke Akimoto, Saori Hayami, and Mariya Ise.

Gen Urobuchi (Madoka Magica, Fate/Zero) of Nitroplus worked as a conceptual writer on the original game with the developer Byking (Gundam Extreme Vs). Mari Shimazaki (Bayonetta), Aruko Wada (Fate/Extra), Shigeto Koyama (Heroman), and Shirow Miwa (Dogs: Bullets & Carnage) created the original game designs.
