Cancels August & January performances at Bangkok, Tokyo, Saitama, Osaka

The official website for singer Eir Aoi announced on Thursday that due to her repeated bouts of poor health, she is going on hiatus for the time being. As a result of discussions between Aoi and her staff, they decided that rest is required, and therefore have cancelled the following planned appearances:

  • Friday, August 19: AFA Thailand 2016, Bangkok
  • Sunday, August 21: Odaiba Minna no Yume Tairiku 2016 Mezamashi Live, Tokyo
  • Friday, August 26: Animelo Summer Live 2016 -Toki-, Saitama
  • Saturday, January 14: Animax Musix 2017 Osaka

Fans should contact the respective event organizers regarding tickets. Aoi and her staff apologized for the great inconvenience to the planned concerts' attendees, organizers, and performers, and said they will work towards her quick recovery.

Aoi launched her musical career in 2011. She released her first single, "Memoria," in October 2011, with the single's title song serving as the ending theme song to the Fate/Zero TV anime series. She has performed theme songs for such anime series as Kill la Kill, Sword Art Online, and the second season of Aldnoah.Zero. Her latest album, D'Azur, debuted at #3 on Oricon's weekly album chart for the June 22-28 week last year. She released her 13th and latest single, "Tsubasa," on July 20, with the single's title song serving as the theme song for The Heroic Legend of Arslan: Dust Storm Dance television anime:

The singer cancelled her performance at Animelo Summer Live 2015 -THE GATE- last August due to a sudden illness, but performed in New York City and in Anime Expo at Los Angeles this year. She has been planning her 5th Anniversary Special Live 2016 concerts at Tokyo's Nippon Budōkan venue on November 4 and 5, and her website does not list those concerts as cancelled yet.
