Webtoon-Based Animated Series Dragon Girl Reveals 1st Trailer
posted on by Wonhee Cho

Korean animation streaming platform LAFTEL released the first trailer on July 31 for the animated series Dragon Girl, based on the webtoon of the same name. The trailer teases key characters, including a perpetually brooding male lead, and introduces its upbeat opening theme, “I'm Running to You.”
Created by Olso, Dragon Girl follows Yongman Kim, the rebellious daughter of the Dragon King, who flees an arranged marriage under the sea to forge her own destiny. She enrolls in a human high school with one mission: to become the top student. But her goal is immediately challenged by Hae-soo Shim, the current number one who has no intention of stepping aside.
The webtoon originally debuted on Naver Webtoon on December 22, 2020, and has published 87 episodes to date. It went on hiatus on March 18, 2025, due to the creator's health concerns, and a return date has not been announced.
LAFTEL has not confirmed any plans for a global release.
There is currently no official English version of the Dragon Girl webtoon.
