Honda Unveils the Pokémon Koraidon Motorcycle
posted on by Ken Iikura-Gross
Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda debuted its Koraidon motorcycle from the Pokémon Scarlet game at the Suzuka 8 Hours motorcycle endurance race on Sunday. The Koraidon motorcycle is built with the Honda Riding Assist system, allowing it to operate independently.

Japanese sports satellite TV broadcaster J Sports was on site for the debut of the Koraidon motorcycle. The broadcasting agency captured the fateful moment of the motorcycle operating independently. The video shows the Koraidon motorcycle traveling at a low speed and the legs simulating a running motion while in operation. However, if you look closely at the motorcycle, there are an extra set of stabilizing wheels, possibly to prevent the motorcycle from tipping over when taking a corner.

The Pokémon Company announced the Koraidon motorcycle collaboration with Honda in late February. Honda initially exhibited the motorcycle at the company's Welcome Plaza Aoyama in Tokyo between March 7-9. The Koraidon motorcycle is the follow-up to The Pokémon Company's 2024 Miraidon motorcycle (from Pokémon Violet) collaboration with Toyota.
As of press time, neither The Pokémon Company nor Honda have announced if a production model Koraidon motorcycle will be made.
The Pokémon Scarlet/Violet games launched on Nintendo Switch worldwide in November 2022. "The Teal Mask," the first part of the games' DLC, launched in September 2023. The second part of the DLC, "The Indigo Disk," launched in December 2023.
