You Can't be in a Rom-Com with Your Childhood Friends was hysterical. Definitely top 10 of the season.

This lost remindx me how anime can and should be so much better if it wasn't for the fact that it keeps falling back on old troupes and genres.

Didn't follow any of the ones on this list past episode 2, so I can't comment much on them. However, I did think Moonlit Dusk had some potential based on its first episode and it has been spoken of highly by a friend who did follow it, so I'm a bit surprised to see it here.
Of the series I have kept up with, my two lowest-rated ones for the season are as follows:
Dark Moon: Blood Altar - A bog-standard supernatural reverse-harem series which gives the female lead some real power but still regularly has her being rescued by the boys.
The Villainess is Adored by the Prince of Another Kingdom - Some of the weakest technical and artistic merits of the season and does absolutely nothing interesting with its genre. It even fails to do anything of note with the fresher twist of having isekaied characters in both the heroine and villainess roles.

I think it suffers badly from being based on a Kpop boy band and needing to maintain their hero status. Sooha can't be able to save herself if the boys are all going to look suitably amazing in a very traditional way.

A agree with LoveCom ni Naranai, harem shows are constantly swinging between being amazing or boring, this one was a swing and a miss. Dead Account is like a budget Blue Exorcist, not too bad. Hell Mode is dumb fun and In the Clear Moonlit Dusk is not a terrible show but if I had to choose, there are far better options.
As for my own "worst" anime; Samurai Troopers, only because it had an identity crisis, Goumon Baito-kun no Nichijou which put me to sleep. DARK MOON is a contender because it's K-pop Twilight.
Kizoku Tensei gets an honorable mention, only due to it being so absolutely ridiculous that it circles around to being somewhat enjoyable.

Well, glad for all of these I only spent 5 minutes to decide to skip them. Nothing lost here.
The worst series I ended up watching this season was Mf Ghost, but at this point that's no surprise anymore. Had I not been such a petrolhead, I would have long dropped the series already. That said, last year I finally got to watch the first season of Initial D, and it's just baffling to see the contrast between the two series. Yes, Initial D also had some of the same issues MFG has, but had plenty of good stuff to make up for that. I had hoped that watching Initial D would make me appreciate MFG a bit more, but seems like it only made it seem even worse....
Apart from that, some series were not exactly great, but not downright bad. Even a series like Darwin Jihen at least is interesting, despite having some questionable aspects. I'll take that over some generic isekai any day of the week...

I didn't watch any of the anime listed in the article, but for me the worst of the season that I did watch was Noble Reincarnation: Born Blessed, So I'll Obtain Ultimate Power. Basically, the whole show was the main character either doing things that were stupid (e.g., stabbing himself, letting himself get kidnapped) or giving away money frivolously, but constantly getting praised for it. He also was constantly treated like a good person because he was better than some of his brothers, while he still did evil things himself (having one person whipped to death without trial stood out, plus the whole thing of giving tax money to loyal people rather than spending it to improve the country as a whole).

I can certainly personally vouch for You Can't Be in a Rom-com belonging on this list. I didn't even make it halfway through the first episode before pulling the plug and I actually dropped very little this season. I acknowledge the deficiencies of In the Clear Moonlit Dusk, but if portrayals of unhealthy relationships are a criterion for being among the Worst of the season, how is Tamon's B-Side not on this list?

No mention of The Villainess Is Adored by the Prince of the Neighbor Kingdom, one of the worst anime I've ever seen in my life, is pretty crazy

The constant commentary over how awesome Noah Ararat (still can't get over the name!) is practically became a running joke to me as the series progressed, and and I'm almost convinced that how gorgeous all his maids (and even personal bodyguard) were was intended as a running joke, but for all that, I didn't hate the series. I think I appreciated how decisive Noah was and how he always acted within the boundaries of his empire's laws (even if some of those laws are shockingly brutal, like with the whipping incident). And it does have arguably the season's best ED song; I recommend to anyone checking that out even if you don't watch the series.

I somehow overlooked this detail, but that explains a lot.

It's not that this story isn't original enough; the source material was one of the pioneers of the villainess genre, but its adaptation came too late, after villainess stories and their tropes have already become established in anime.

Mine would be,
Kunon the sexist can only see women. It started out promising, I can even enjoy some jokes, but it went downhill quick, and it went really gross at the end. There maybe a reason why the mc who rivals Sanji is the way he is, but it's more like an excuse than anything worthy of paying attention to.
Noah the sasuga and the sugoi. This one I still somewhat enjoyed for the cheesiness, it taught me some Japanese phrases to praise someone (or is it to worship someone?). It even makes it easier for me to learn these useful expressions without ever taking notes, since the show uses a repeat-after-me method, like every 5 second. Dora and her spanish lesson is still more fun, though.

Dead Account disappointed me (even though I don't think it's that bad) because like Kennedy said in the article, the whole idea of ghosts living in the internet feels like such a novel idea that I feel like it should have/could have been so much better than what it is. Again, I don't think it's that bad, so I don't begrudge anyone for liking it, but personally it's one of those where I can say that I noped out of when I kind of just realized that it was never really gonna get better. Sort of a "it's worse to be boring than bad" thing, but replace boring with "disappointing".

Of those on the list Dead Account hurts me the most. Like the article and others have said: the premise is an interesting one. There could have been all kinds of cases to make you think about the dangers/benefits of social media and what happens to an account when the creator of it dies. What we got is the premise being utterly wasted on predictable fights.
There was a Cute Girl in the Hero's Party, so I Tried Confessing to Her would be on my worst of Winter 2026 list. A show that is supposedly about a romance between a demon and a hero party member barely has any romantic progress between the two. The animation is also rather wonky and some episodes are just dumb in that the plot feels very contrived or nonsensical (especially that Valentine one).
