Not incidentally, Tokyo Comic Con is hosting the first film's cast members Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, Tom Wilson, and Claudia Wells this year.
NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan also announced a set of Back to the Future 40th Anniversary pure-gold koban coins. The coins, forged in the style of traditional Japanese koban coins from about 10 grams (about 0.35 ounces) of gold each, feature the iconic DMC DeLorean time machine as it appeared in the three films along with each film's title logo. The set comes in an exclusive display case.

Pre-orders for the coin set will continue until December 29 on the U-Treasure website. The coin set goes for 528,000 yen (about US$3,470) and will begin shipping around May 28, 2026.
Back to the Future is no stranger to the manga world. In February 2018 manga creator Yūsuke Murata (One-Punch Man, Eyeshield 21) announced he would draw a Back to the Future manga series. The series was set to launch on the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! Web website. However, due to rights issues for several elements of the story, the planned series was canceled by September 2018. Murata posted several images of the planned Back to the Future manga to his Twitter account.
