Big Apple Anime Fest
Manga Entertainment

by Mikhail Koulikov,
Studio Representative: Keith Burgess

Over the last few months, Manga is in the process of splitting from former owner Palm Pictures. According to Mr. Burgess, the company is under the ownership of several unnamed private investors. There will be no negative effects on release schedules, but "a few changes, the majority of them good" are expected to take place.

Following the current industry trend, Manga is committed to releasing its back catalog on DVD. Titles that will be given priority include Devil Man, Wings of Honneamise, and New Dominion Tank Police. Mr. Burgess also confirmed that currently, Manga only holds the license to the first 36 episodes of the Fist of the North Star TV series.

The Street Fighter Alpha 2 OAV, which will focus heavily on the character Akuma, is currently set for release in March 2004. Manga's other title currently in development is the 13-episode Production I.G OVA Dead Leaves.

By e-mail, Mr. Burgess added that Orguss 02 is also in the works.

Manga is interested in expanding into releasing merchandise items in addition to DVD's. It also currently holds rights to several manga titles, but will most likely subcontract any release to another company.
