This year's April issue of Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine revealed on Monday that Takeshi Fujishiro's Nagasarete Airantou manga has 3.9 million copies in print.
The story follows Ikuto, who runs away from home after a fight with his father, boards a ship, and falls overboard. After many days adrift he ends up on Airantou, an island populated only by girls.
Fujishiro launched the manga in Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine in 2002. Square Enix published the manga's 29th compiled book volume on July 22 and will publish the 30th compiled book volume on March 22.
The manga inspired a 26-episode anime in 2007. Daisuki streamed the series in 2016 until it ended its streaming service in 2017.
