Metal Gear Rising Revengeance's Boss Battles Previewed in Video

posted on by Egan Loo
Raiden faces off against Samuel & Winds of Destruction cyborgs in February game

Konami offered a sneak peak of the boss battles against the Desperado Enforcement PMC's Samuel Rodrigues and the "w-inds of Destruction" cyborgs in its Metal Gear Rising Revengeance game on Friday. In the video, the cyborg ninja Raiden (played by Kenyuu Horiuchi) faces off against the female cyborg Mistral (Romi Park), the recombinable cyborg Monsoon (Masashi Ebara), the dual "Blood Rust" machete-wielding Sundowner (Ken Nishida), and finallly, Samuel (Hiroaki Hirata) himself.

The game's official website outlines the story:

Raiden is contracted for VIP protection, military training and other duties by PMSCs (Private Military and Security Companies) in a developing country piecing itself back together after a bloody civil war. Little does he know that the stage is set for a clash with an enigmatic force of countless cyborgs.

Reborn at the hands of Platinum Games, Metal Gear Rising Revengeance pits cyborg against cyborg in battle that blazes past every human limit!

Kojima Productions (the company overseen by Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima) is responsible for the scenario and setting supervision of the game, while Platinum Games (Bayonetta) is handling its development.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will ship on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles in North America on February 19 after a free demo arrives on January 22. However, the Japanese release will be for the PlayStation 3 console only. Various game packages, including the limited-edition Zandatsu Package with Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance PlayStation 3, will ship in Japan on February 21.
