2nd Live-Action 'At 25:00, in Akasaka' Season Reveals Cast, October 1 Debut

Makoto Nakamura, Yoshihisa Ishida, Marie Machida, Omi Natsuki play characters original to BL show

TV Tokyo revealed the main visual, new and returning cast members, and October 1 premiere for the second live-action season based on' Hiroko Natsuno's At 25:00 in Akasaka (25-Ji, Akasaka de) boys-love manga on Wednesday.

The second season's new cast members play characters who are original to the live-action series. Makoto Nakamura (bottom right in image above) plays Keiichirō Aoyama, an award-winning theater stage director; Yoshihisa Ishida (middle column, top right) plays Takashi Fujioka, a frequent actor in Aoyama's productions; Marie Machida (middle column, second from left) plays Reiko Nozawa, the producer of the stage play Aoyama is directing; and Omi Natsuki (bottom left) plays Keita Kuroki, a young actor who has feelings for Shirasaki.

The returning cast members include:

  • Takuma Usa as Hajime Sakuma
  • Shōma Nagumo as Kazuma Yamase
  • Yūshin Shinohara as Nozomi Mihara
  • Uchu Imagawa as Asuka Kawada
  • Kenzō Fukutsu as Daisuke Makita
  • Akiko Hinagata as Haruka Hayama
  • Atsushi Hashimoto as Shōta Shinoda
  • Moemi Katayama as Kei Akeno

The second season will debut on October 1 on TV Tokyo at 25:00 JST (effectively, October 2 at 1:00 a.m. JST). The season will also air on other channels, and will also stream on GagaOOLala, as well as on U-NEXT and Net mo TV Tokyo in Japan.

Yuka Yasukawa (live-action My Love Story With Yamada-kun at Lv999), Shinju Funabiki (live-action My Personal Weatherman), and Takashi Haga (Me & My Brother's Mistress) are the new directors for the season. Miho Aotsuka and Kumiko Asō (live-action Rent-A-Girlfriend) are returning to write the scripts.

In the new season, an incident occurs that causes trouble in Hayama and Shirasaki's relationship. The season will cover the popular "stage production arc" from the manga.

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga, and it describes the story:

Yuki Shirasaki finally landed his big break. But the pressure is on when he's cast alongside current superstar (and his former classmate!) Asami Hayama. Determined to do his best, Shirasaki decides to dive deep into researching playing the role of a gay man and visits a gay bar for a one-night stand. To his surprise, Hayama is there and gives Shirasaki the shock of his life by suggesting they become friends with benefits! Can Shirasaki keep his attention on the role, or will he be captivated by Hayama's good looks and irresistible charm?

Takahiro Horie and Ryō Kawasaki directed the first season.

The first season premiered on TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, TV Hokkaido, and TVQ Broadcasting Kyushu on April 18, 2024. It streamed in Japanese with English, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, Bahasa Indonesia, Spanish, and Thai worldwide on GagaOOLala, where it was the top-ranked series during its run.

Natsuno launched the manga in Shodensha's On Blue boys love magazine in November 2017, and ended it in October 2018. Natsuno launched a side story serialization for the manga in December 2018, and has been irregularly publishing the manga ever since. Shodensha published the manga's fourth compiled book volume in December 2022. The publisher futekiya previously released the manga digitally in English, as well as Natsuno's The Love of Calendula (Fuyu Shirazu no Koi) manga.
