Steins;Gate Kōsoku no Phenogram Videos Show Mayuri's Viewpoint

1 of 10 new episodes in April 25 game for PS3/Xbox 360

Japanese developer 5pb. streamed two new gameplay videos from the Steins;Gate Kōsoku no Phenogram (Steins;Gate: Linear-Bounded Phenogram) game for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on Wednesday. This new video previews the game's "Yūen Fuhen no Polaris" (Distant, Constant Polaris), an episode told from Mayuri Shiina's point of view.

The Steins;Gate story revolves around Rintaro Okabe, a self-proclaimed "mad scientist" who believes that an international scientific organization named SERN is conspiring to reshape the world according to its own interests. He inadvertently creates a gadget able to send messages to the past. The discovery and experimentation of this instrument become the catalyst of fundamental alterations to the present. Okabe is the only one aware of these changes because he possesses a Reading Steiner, the ability to retain the memories from previous experienced timelines. Oblivious of the consequences of their actions, Rintaro and his friends end up creating modifications of grievous proportions. He must then try to find a way to return as close as possible to the original timeline in order to save his precious lab partners.

The new game features 10 self-continued episodes told from the viewpoint of the other characters besides Okabe, such as his childhood friend Mayuri ("Mayushii").

The game will ship in Japan on April 25. The Steins;Gate Fuka Ryōiki no Déjà vu film will also open in 30 theaters on April 20 as a sequel to the 2011 Steins;Gate television anime series.
