San-X's Rilakkuma Gets US$1,800 Sofa

Cuddle-up with San-X's laziest mascot, Rilakkuma! San-X is joining Sanrio in the mascot-inspired sofa trend. San-X's Rilakkuma (a pun on the word relax and kuma (bear)) will get his own sofa for 197,400 yen (~US$1889). The bear, who loves all things lazy, is one of San-X's more popular characters.
Each piece of furniture is individually handmade of plywood and synthetic leather by furniture craftsmen in Okawa, Fukuoka. Pre-orders will be accepted until January 26 with deliveries starting on February 24.
