Evangelion Voice Actress Ogata Recounts Mental and Physical Stress of Role

Voice actress Megumi Ogata has recently opened up about the physical and emotional strain that playing Neon Genesis Evangelion's Shinji Ikari has on her.

In a string of recent Tweets posted on November 30, Ogata wrote about how Evangelion affects her both physically and mentally.

One Tweet read: "Blood Pressure up by 300%! The angels...no, the Evas still haunt me!"

Another Tweet stated: "I'm not even kidding, I feel so desperate. It's difficult to deal with, but I have to try my best!"

Ogata is reprising her role in the Evangelion film series. In a more-detailed post, she tweeted: "Playing Shinji and screaming so much, it always gives me a headache. My blood pressure feels like it's rising and my back and waist feel like they are throbbing so much."

This is the second series of tweets by Ogata giving a behind-the-scenes look at her roles. She opened up a few weeks ago about the director's choice to cast her as Yugi Mutou in the original Yu-Gi-Oh! anime.
