Ghibli Makes Event Anime for Nico Nico's 5th Anniversary (Updated)

Dwango, the parent company of the Japanese streaming service Nico Nico Douga, will unveil an "exclusive new anime produced by Studio Ghibli to celebrate Nico Nico Douga's 5th anniversary" on December 12. Dwango is holding a presentation on that day at the company's Nicofarre event hall (pictured right) in Tokyo.
The theme of the December 12 presentation is "returning to our roots." Dwango plans to review the current version of Nico Nico Douga and announce the new features in the next version. Nico Nico Douga will stream the presentation live on its website.
Nobuo Kawakami is not only the chairperson of Dwango, but he is training as a producer at Studio Ghibli.
