Kuroko's Basketball Namja Town Event Closes 19 Days Early

Tokyo event closing Friday was originally scheduled to run through November 21

The official website for Tokyo's Namco Namja Town's "Kuroko no Basuke produced by Namco Namja Town" event announced on Wednesday that the event is closing on Friday. The event was originally slated to run from September 21 through November 21. The announcement noted that the early cancellation was due to "various circumstances."

Since last month, more than 20 locations linked to Kuroko's Basketball creator Tadatoshi Fujimaki have received threat letters with chemicals. The police have revealed that some of the threats were sent from Osaka City.

Among the locations that have received threat letters include MBS, the Osaka-based station that aired the Kuroko's Basketball anime, a Hokkaido event facility that is planning to host a Kuroko's Basketball event in January, Fujimaki's former high school and university, a publishing production firm in Tokyo's Suginami ward, a Kuroko's Basketball dōjinshi event at Tokyo Big Sight, and the network for the Kuroko's Basketball radio show.

A source in the investigation of Kuroko's Basketball threat letters said there is a high possibility that the liquid sent to Sophia University on October 12 could emit a lethal dose of hydrogen sulfide if vaporized. Breathing in hydrogen sulfide can irritate the lungs, while higher exposures may cause a build-up of fluid, severe trouble breathing, nausea, dizziness, confusion, headache, and trouble sleeping. Very high levels can cause unconsciousness and even death.
