The Machi Asobi event announced on Saturday that there will be new text stories for Ore no Imōto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai (Oreimo) and A Certain Scientific Railgun, even though the last Oreimo light novel volume has already been planned. The text stories will be released via the Niconico service. The event also revealed that the return of Chiba's Oreimo art-wrapped monorail will have the characters Kirino and Kuroneko voicing the onboard announcements, starting early next month. The second Oreimo Fes. event is also being planned in Chiba.
The 11th volume of Tsukasa Fushimi's original Ore no Imōto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai (Oreimo) light novel series revealed last September that the next volume will be the final one. The ongoing second anime season is adapting the plot of the light novel series all the way through the final novel volume. Both the final published novel volume and the second anime season are planned to end at the same time.
Seven Seas Entertainment is publishing A Certain Scientific Railgun manga, which is itself a spinoff of A Certain Magical Index light novel series. The manga inspired two television anime seasons that Funimation is releasing and streaming in North America.
