Company to release 1st chapter on PC this winter

North American video game publisher XSEED Games announced on Friday that it is partnering with Carpe Fulgure LLC to release The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC role-playing game digitally to the PC and PlayStation Portable in 2014. The game will also be compatible with the PS Vita. The companies also plan to release the first chapter, The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, on PC this winter. XSEED Games had released The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky in on PSP in March 2011 after announcing in 2010 that it would bring all three chapters in the series to North America.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC starts immediately after the events in the first chapter. XSEED Games describes the game as follows:

Following the explosive revelations at the very end of Trails in the Sky, Estelle feels adrift and must find her resolve along with friends both old and new, and face down the true architects of the chaos engulfing Liberl – a force far more powerful and insidious than she could ever have imagined.

Nihon Falcom first released the first chapter in Japan on PC in 2004. The game then received a PSP port in 2006, and a PlayStation 3 port last year. The second game received a PS3 port in Japan in April, the PS3 port of the third game shipped in Japan on June 27.

The game series inspired an anime special in 2011 that Sentai Filmworks released in North America in 2012.

Update: XSEED posted an announcement teaser video on Friday that reveals that the second chapter will be available in Summer 2014.
