The official YouTube channel for Japanese game developer Atlus began streaming a character promotional video for the Ken and Koromaru duo for the upcoming PlayStation 3 port of the Persona 4 The Ultimax Ultrasuplex Hold arcade game, the sequel to Persona 4 The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena (Persona 4 Arena outside Japan).

Ken: I promised Mitsuru... That I'd live a proper childhood.
    Ken: Thanks for the support.
Ken: Geez, you're an adult, so what are you doing? You're a bit too off guard.
Ken: As you wish. I don't dislike sports at all.
Ken: I don't understand either. That "honor" and "adult matters" stuff is completely ridiculous.
Ken: ...Don't give him weird names. Koromaru is troubled when you do.
Ken: My combination with Koromaru is good.
    Ken: Let's go, Koromaru!
Narrator: The Chunibyo (someone who is obsessed with a fantasy world to an embarassing degree) second-year middle school boy currently getting raving reviews! The cynical rookie who is cheeky to the max! Ken Amada & Koromaru!
    Ken: What's needed is determination.
Ken: We have no time to be turning back now, right!? It's because we all clashed against each other and accepted one another that we're here now!
Ken: It's because I'm getting closer to this person...
Shadow Ken: Are you the idiot who wants to be killed?

  • Ken Amada
  • Voice: Megumi Ogata

Now a middle-schooler, Ken wields a spear and fights as a duo alongside Koromaru.

The company is also streaming a promo for the Golden Arena mode for the game:

In this mode, after choosing the difficulty, players choose one companion to assist them. The partners available include Fūka, Nanako, and Kuma (Teddy). The goal of the mode is for players to defeat enemies and raise the level of their character. Through defeating enemies, the player will be able to strengthen characters, as well as obtain new skills. When the character's communication rank rises, the character will become able to use unique skills.

The PlayStation 3 port of the arcade game will ship in Japan on August 28. First copies will come with a code to download extra scenario set for the game. Atlus will ship the game in North America this fall under the title Persona 4 Arena Ultimax.

The story takes place only a few days after the events of Persona 4 Arena, when the town of Inaba is clouded in a shroud of red fog in which time is warped and people disappear. Inaba has almost become like the world inside the television. To add to it all, the members of the Persona 4 team find Mitsuru and Akihiko being crucified on the Midnight Channel. In front of the Inaba students appear Yukari and Junpei, members of the Shadow Worker unit who have come to the rural town in order to save their upperclassmen.

Atlus released the first Persona 4 The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena game in Japan last summer on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles, and Atlus USA released the game in North America.
