Crackle Picks Up Dead Rising Live-Action Film Adaptation Rights

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Mortal Kombat: Legacy's Contradiction Films produces feature-length project

Streaming service Crackle acquired the U.S. film rights to create a live-action adaptation of CAPCOM's Dead Rising zombie survival-horror video game. Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune produced the original Xbox 360 game in 2006. The story follows four characters as they attempt to survive a zombie apocalypse while hunting down the source of the infection that is giving rise to the undead.

Tim Carter of Contradiction Films (Mortal Kombat: Legacy) will write the film and produce it with TO-MAS Harlan and Lorenzo di Bonaventura.

The film will premiere in the U.S. on Crackle, followed by release on streaming video on demand, DVD, video on demand, and television. It will also be released internationally in feature-length and episodic formats.

Thanks to Daniel Zelter for the news tip.
