Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata Recovers From Surgery for Growth in Bile Duct

Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata posted an official statement announcing that he had undergone surgery to remove a growth found in his bile duct.
He explained that after doctors detected an abnormality in his body, they discovered the growth. He added that for most patients, finding such a growth in the bile duct early is very difficult, as is treating one. However, fortunately, the doctors discovered the growth at a very early stage, and Iwata suffered from no negative symptoms.
After doctors suggested that the growth be removed as soon as possible, Iwata underwent surgery, which ended safely as planned. Iwata confirmed that while he has begun replying to emails again, some time will be needed for him to return to his normal work. He then announced that due to this, he will be taking a term of leave from the company. He wrote that although he felt terrible as CEO for being absent from the company, but insisted that he has been forced to put his health first.
