Animax Asia Launches HD Broadcast on Thursday

Channel will simulcast content from standard definition channel
Regional television channel Animax Asia announced on its website that it will begin broadcasting in high definition (HD) starting on Thursday. The high definition channel will be a simulcast with its standard definition (SD) channel, carrying the same content.
Animax Asia will be the latest channel in the Sony Pictures Entertainment Asia stable of channels to broadcast in HD, after AXN Asia, AXN Beyond, BeTV, ONE TV, and GEM TV. Sony Pictures Entertainment Asia launched an Animax HD channel in Taiwan in August, but it is not a simulcast with its standard definition channel.
Aniplus-Asia's Aniplus HD channel also broadcasts in high definition in Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand.
