Aniplex, A-1 Pictures to produce anime based on light novel by Oreimo author

The staff of the the television anime adaptation of Tsukasa Fushimi's light novel series Eromanga Sensei revealed at the Dengeki Bunko Haru no Saiten 2016 event on Sunday that Akane Fujita (Mahō Shōjo Nante Mō Ii Desu Kara.'s Yuzuka Hanami) will play Sagiri Izumi. Fujita is reprising the role from an earlier visual drama that was broadcast on Niconico.

The staff also revealed at the event that Shinichiro Kashiwada will serve as the producer of the project, and Aniplex and A-1 Pictures will produce the anime.

The "new sibling romantic comedy" revolves around Masamune Izumi, a light novel author in high school. Masamune's little sister is Sagiri, a shut-in girl who hasn't left her room for an entire year. She even forces her brother to make and bring her meals when she stomps on the floor. Masamune wants his sister to leave her room, because the two of them are each other's only family.

Masamune's novel illustrator, penname "Eromanga Sensei," draws extremely perverted drawings, and is very reliable. Masamune had never met his illustrator, and figured he was just a disgusting, perverted otaku. However, the truth is revealed that his "Eromanga Sensei" is his own younger sister. To add to the chaos that erupts between the siblings, a beautiful, female, best-selling shōjo manga creator becomes their rival.

Fushimi launched the light novel series in 2013 after finishing the Oreimo (Ore no Imōto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai) light novel series, which also inspired an anime. As with Oreimo, Hiro Kanzaki draws the illustrations for Eromanga Sensei.
