Rensuke Oshikiri Launches Semai Sekai no Identity Manga Series

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
"Manga battle royale" series by Hi Score Girl author launched today in Morning two magazine

The October issue of Kodansha's Morning two magazine launched Rensuke Oshikiri's new manga titled Semai Sekai no Identity (Small World's Identity) on Monday. The magazine describes the manga as a "manga battle royale." The first chapter featured a color opening page.

The new manga is part of a slate of new series that the magazine is publishing throughout the next year in celebration of its 10th anniversary. Peco Watanabe (Niko Tama) will also launch a new manga series in the magazine next month, and Tsuyoshi Ōsumi (Kono Yubi Tomare) will launch a new series in October. Natsume Ono will then launch her Skyscraper Blues manga series in December.

Oshikiri recently resumed his Hi Score Girl manga in Square Enix's Monthly Big Gangan magazine on July 25. The manga launched in the magazine in 2010, but had been on hiatus since 2014 due to a legal controversy involving multiple game developers claiming copyright infringement. The manga had an anime adaptation announced before the controversy broke. Square Enix and SNK settled their claims in August 2015, allowing Square Enix to publish the series again.

Oshikiri's Pupipō! horror comedy manga ran in the free web comic magazine Flex Comix Blood from 2007 to 2009. The series inspired an anime adaptation that premiered in 2013.

Oshikiri recently launched new manga series titled Gyanprin in Futabasha's Manga Action magazine on August 2.
