Dōbutsu Sentai Zyuohger Series Gets V-Cinema Sequel Film in June

Toei revealed on Sunday that it will release a V-Cinema direct-to-video sequel of Dōbutsu Sentai Zyuohger, the 40th Super Sentai series. The new story, titled Kaettekita Dōbutsu Sentai Zyuohger O-inochi Chōdai! Chikyū Ōja Ketteisen, will be set after the series' story, and is set on an Earth where Zyumen and humans live peacefully together. A great battle to decide the ruler of Earth is planned, but a new and hidden crisis is lurking.
The film will ship on June 28 for Blu-ray Disc and DVD, and will include a behind-the-scenes video. First print copies will also include a 100-page book with detailed information on the Dōbutsu Sentai Zyuohger show. Noboru Takemoto is directing the film, and Jin Tanaka is writing the script.
The original series premiered last February, and just ended its one-year run on Sunday. Uchū Sentai Kyūranger, the franchise's 41st series, will premiere on February 12.
