Former AKB48 member and current HKT48 idol group member Rino Sashihara participated as the producer in a voice actress idol competition on April 29. The contest was the third stage in the competition, and it narrowed down 103 participants aged 12-20 to 13 finalists. The average age among the finalists were 16-17 years old.
The competition judged participants through singing, dancing, and interviews. The finalist group will be named =LOVE (pronounced "equal love"), with a planned debut in summer. The finalists will be taking lessons until their debut. The production staff have already planned a song for the group. Sashihara stated that she wanted to make a group that can stand next to, and one day surpass AKB48.
Sashihara previously guest starred in the Eiga Crayon Shin-chan: Ora no Hikkoshi Monogatari ~Saboten Daishūgeki film, which opened in Japan in April 2015.
