Shōnan Bakusōzoku/Bomber Bikers of Shonan Manga Gets New Chapter

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Manga ran from 1982-1987, inspired 12-episode OVA

The December special issue of Shogakukan's Big Comic magazine published a one-shot manga of Satoshi Yoshida's Shōnan Bakusōzoku (Bomber Bikers of Shonan) manga on Friday. The one-shot ran as a spinoff of Yoshida's Sono Takusan ga Ai na no ka. manga, which currently runs on Big Comic. In the one-shot, Nimōsaku Gonda and "that character" appear.

AnimEigo once released the first episode of the manga's 12-episode OVA adaptation, and it described the story:

Meet Eguchi Yoosuke, leader of a high-school Biker gang AND the school's handicrafts club. Which means he divides his time between fistfights and fancy needlework. If you think he's weird, wait until you meet the rest of his gang...

The manga ran in Shonengahosha's Shonen King magazine from 1982 to 1987. The OVA's first episode debuted in 1986, with 11 subsequent episode releases until 1999. The manga inspired a separate OVA titled Shin Shōnan Bakusōzoku Arakure Knight in 1997, as well as a live-action film in 1987.

Yoshida's Sono Takusan ga Ai na no ka. manga launched in Big Comic on February 25. Shogakukan published the manga's first volume on July 28.
