Manga centers on 3 yakuza men forced to become idol group

The first 2018 issue of Kodansha Weekly Young Magazine is announcing on Monday that Jasmine Gyuh's Back Street Girls comedy manga is getting a television anime adaptation.

The magazine's 49th issue on November 6 had hinted that the manga's ninth compiled volume would have an "important announcement" when the volume ships on December 6.

The manga centers on three yakuza men who are forced by their boss, who is also a producer, to become an idol group, and the difficulties they face hiding their true selves from their fans.

The manga launched in Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine in March 2015. Kodansha published the manga's eighth compiled volume on September 6. The manga has more than 450,000 copies in print.
