'When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace' Light Novel Series Ends in 13th Volume

Author to release new novel about tennis player in another world

Author Kota Nozomi announced on Thursday that his Inō-Battle wa Nichijō-kei no Naka de (Inou-Battle in the Usually Daze) light novel series will end with the 13th volume in January. Nozomi will launch a new work titled Isekai Tennis Musō: Tennis Player Toka Iu Nazo no Otoko ga Chōtto Tsuyosugirun Desu Kedo! (Alternate World Tennis Warriors: But The Mysterious Man Who is Called a Tennis Player Among Other Things is A Little Too Powerful!) at the same time.

Nozomi started the Inō-Battle wa Nichijō-kei no Naka de light novel series with illustrations by The Devil Is a Part-Timer! artist Oniku (029) in 2012. In the story, the five members of the literature club awakened with extraordinary powers half a year ago. Although the members expected to be thrown into a world of super-powered battles (inō-battle) at their school, their normal daily routine continued. No secret organizations bent on World Destruction, no super-powered wars, no braves or demon kings. However, the members still look forward to the possibilities of adventure, and continued to believe that with each day, they were getting ever closer to those days of fantasy.

The novels inspired an anime adaptation from Studio Trigger in 2014. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired, and Sentai Filmworks released the series on home video in North America.

Kōsuke Kurose launched a manga adaptation in Kadokawa's Monthly Comp Ace magazine in September 2013, and it ended in February 2015.

Isekai Tennis Musō, pictured above, will follow a high school tennis prodigy who is summoned into another world as a hero and finds it unimpressive when compared to the high school tennis nationals. Tennis is the most powerful superpower in this world: with his tennis skills he can crush a dragon with one hit or defeat an army of demons. But the demon king is also a tennis player.

Yūnagi is illustrating the novel.
