The official website for the Japanese-Taiwanese collaboration anime adaptation of Yanai's Jikken-hin Kazoku: Creatures Family Days manga revealed the show's first round of cast announcements on Saturday.

The anime stars: (Note: Character name spellings aren't official)

Riho Sugiyama as Tanis, the youngest sibling. His parents consider him a genius and haven't modded him.

Nanako Mori as Aisley, 16 years old and the third-born sibling. She carries genes of a spider and can grow spider legs out of her back.

Yoshiko Ikuta as Suishi, 14 years old and the fourth-born sibling. Her genetic modding granted her the ability to read minds, but she lost the ability to make facial expressions.

Other characters in the show include:

Ashise, 16 years old and the second-born sibling. She carries plant genes and can grow any plant out of her body if she wills it.

Snow, 17 years old and the oldest of the siblings. His genes are fused with that of a white dog, and he has three forms: full dog form, half dog form, and full human form.

The anime will air in Japan and Taiwan simultaneously in spring 2018.

Wei Tianxing is directing the series at Big Firebird Cultural Media Co., Ltd. Cai Zhiheng is writing the scripts, Li Xiangmei is the character designer, and Liang Zhongwen is the producer. Tomohiro Seki is the sound director for the Japanese language version. Masahiro Hiramitsu (Kenka Banchō Otome: Girl Beats Boys) is the animation producer. Rin Akatsuki is performing the show's theme song "Early Days."

The manga launched in Shinchosha's Comic @ Bunch magazine in the December issue on October 21, and it marks Taiwanese creator Yanai's Japanese debut. The series centers on a family where both parents are mad scientists, and where most of the five siblings are modded humans called "creatures." The family members aim to become a "normal" family.
