Viz Media announced on Saturday that its English digital edition of Weekly Shonen Jump will publish Kazuki Takahashi's new short manga THE COMIQ and a new RWBY manga by Bunta Kinami this fall.

THE COMIQ will debut in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump in Japan on October 15. The first chapter will have 53 pages.

The manga is commemorating the 50th anniversary of Weekly Shonen Jump. The series will center on the rookie manga creator Genkō and his secret.

Takahashi's Yu-Gi-Oh! manga ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1996 to 2004. The manga launched an international hit franchise that continues to this day with card games, anime, toys, and newer manga series. Takahashi won Comic-Con International's Inkpot Award in July 2015. The award recognizes individuals for outstanding contributions to comics, science fiction and fantasy, film, television, animation, and fandom.

Shirow Miwa drew an earlier adaptation in Shueisha's Ultra Jump from November 2015 to February 2017. Viz Media published the manga in its English edition of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine beginning in October 2017, and also publishes the manga in print. Viz also publishes the RWBY manga anthology series.

The original RWBY web animated series by the late creator Monty Oum follows four girls with unique weapons and powers who are training to hunt supernatural "Creatures of Grimm." The manga is a prequel about these four girls who would eventually make up Team RWBY upon enrolling in Beacon Academy. The manga's story, supervised by Rooster Teeth, reveals "the mystery hidden in four trailers" presented in Japan.
