Seattle's Sakura-Con to Host Ryukishi07, ROOKiEZ IS PUNK'D, Yutaka Minowa

Convention to be held from April 19-21

The official website for Seattle's Sakura-Con convention announced over the last few weeks that artist Yutaka Minowa, doujin game creator Ryukishi07, and the band ROOKiEZ is PUNK'D will be guests at this year's event.

Minowa has served as a character designer on Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Ninja Scroll, and Avengers Confidential: Black Widow & Punisher. He has also worked on key animation for a number of titles, including the opening sequences for Parasyte -the maxim-, Maken-Ki! Battling Venus, and Dororo.

Ryukishi07 founded the 07th Expansion doujin circle with the help of his brothers and debuted the Higurashi: When They Cry game series, which has inspired several anime, manga, live-action adaptations, spinoffs, and remakes. He is also the writer for Umineko When They Cry, Rose Guns Days, and Harem Royale - When the Game Ends. He wrote the scenario for the Okamikakushi - Masque of the Wolf anime and was one of the scenario writers for the Rewrite game.

The alternative rock band ROOKiEZ is PUNK'D will be a musical guest for Sakura-Con. Their debut single "Complication" was used as the second opening theme song for the Durarara!! anime series. The band has also performed the second opening theme song "In My World" for Blue Exorcist, the ending theme song "Song for..." for Bleach, and "Reclimb" for Yowamushi Pedal.

This year's event will be held at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle from April 19-21. Manga creator and illustrator Satoshi Shiki (Daphne in the Brilliant Blue) will also attend the event.
