'That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime' Original Anime DVD Delayed 9 Months to December

The official website for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime television anime announced on Tuesday that the planned limited edition bundle of Taiki Kawakami's 11th manga volume has been canceled. The regular edition is still slated for March 29. The limited edition would have bundled an original anime DVD, but that DVD is now slated for release with a limited edition of the 13th manga volume in December.

The announcement noted that the delay was due to "various circumstances" in the production process of the original anime DVD.

The television anime of author Fuse and artist Mitz Vah's That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken or Regarding Reincarnated to Slime) light novel series premiered on October 1. Crunchyroll is streaming the series, and FUNimation Entertainment is streaming an English dub. The anime's 23rd episode, slated for March 11, will be the final episode for the main story. The show will then air two more episodes over the following two weeks. The 24th episode is titled "Kuro to Kamen" (Black and Mask), and is slated for March 18. The episode will be an anime original story showing an encounter between Shizu and Diablo. The extra 25th episode is titled "Veldora Nikki" (Veldora's Diary), and will air on March 25.

Yasuhito Kikuchi (Infinite Stratos, Macross Frontier, Busou Shinki) is directing the anime at 8-Bit, with Atsushi Nakayama (Absolute Duo) as assistant director. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Tantei Opera Milky Holmes, Girls' Last Tour, Recovery of an MMO Junkie) is in charge of series composition. Ryōma Ebata (Busou Shinki, Magical Warfare) is adapting the character designs for animation. Takahiro Kishida (Spring and Chaos, Serial Experiments Lain, Knight's & Magic) is in charge of monster design. Elements Garden is composing the music.

Takuma Terashima is performing the anime's opening theme song "Nameless story." TRUE performed the anime's first ending theme song "Another colony." Azusa Tadokoro performs the anime's second ending song "Little Soldier."

Fuse launched the story serially on the "Shōsetsuka ni Narō" (Let's Become Novelists) website from 2013 to 2016. Micro Magazine began publishing the series in print in 2014, and it shipped the 13th volume last September. Taiki Kawakami launched the manga adaptation in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine in 2015. Kodansha published the 10th volume on December 7.

Yen Press published the novel series' fourth English volume on December 11, and Kodansha Comics published the eighth volume of Kawakami's manga last October.
