Broccoli Books Announces Aquarian Age – Juvenile Orion volume 1

Broccoli Books to release Aquarian AgeJuvenile Orion volume 1 in January

Los Angeles, CA (December 1, 2003)—Broccoli Books, the publishing division of Broccoli International USA, will be releasing the English version of Aquarian AgeJuvenile Orion volume 1 in January.

Known as Orion no Shounen in Japan, Aquarian Age: Juvenile Orion is by popular manga artist Sakurako Gokurakuin. The first volume will be released exclusively at Waldenbooks and Anime Gamers! through April.

Aquarian AgeJuvenile Orion is a spin-off series of the card game of the same name. The five-volumed manga combines elements of fantasy, romance, and action, focusing on five young men with supernatural abilities. Another multi-platform brand of Broccoli, Aquarian AgeJuvenile Orion is featured on CDs and stationery in addition to the trading card game. Additional merchandise are being planned for North America in the near future.

Aquarian AgeJuvenile Orion will feature additional bonus material that was not available in the Japanese edition. The bonus materials include character statistics, trading card game rules, and a card checklist. There will also be a voucher in the book that can be sent in to redeem a dust jacket. The dust jacket will be limited in number and will feature a different illustration by Sakurako Gokurakuin.

Mana is a 16-year-old teenager who came back to Tokyo after her mother's death. She reunites with her childhood friend Kaname, but he is not happy to see her again. Mana's presence sets off a chain of events that changes the lives of Kaname and his best friend Naoya forever. Their classmates Isshin and Tsukasa, and their teacher Tomonori find themselves drawn to her as well. They soon discover that they are part of the Aquarian Age—an ancient war that has raged in secret for thousands of years.
