Gokuraku: Paradise Gallery Exhibition by Katsuya Terada, Rockin' Jellybean, & Junko Mizuno

Three iconic Japanese creators will be in person at new art exhibition based on their interpretations of “paradise”

LOS ANGELES, CA - June 6th, 2025 - Gallery Nucleus is pleased to exhibit brand new artwork by renowned artists Katsuya Terada, Rockin' Jellybean, and Junko Mizuno. The show runs from June 21st - July 6th, and the opening reception will be on June 21st beginning at 5 PM.

All three artists will be present for the opening reception, and signing a limited amount of items for fans (up to 5 items per artist). New artwork will be on display and for sale, and new exclusive art prints by each artist will be on offer as well.

Katsuya Terada: Katsuya Terada is a renowned Japanese illustrator and manga artist known for his highly detailed, intricate linework and fusion of traditional and futuristic aesthetics. Born in 1963 in Japan, Terada has gained international recognition for his work in manga, concept art, and character design. His distinctive style, often referred to as "Rakuga-king" (King of Doodles), blends Japanese and Western influences, resulting in dynamic, densely detailed compositions. Terada has contributed to a variety of media, including video games, animation, and graphic novels, with notable works such as Monkey King and his design work for Blood: The Last Vampire and The Legend of Zelda. Beyond his manga and illustration work, Terada has collaborated with major companies, including Nintendo, Lucasfilm, and Dark Horse Comics.

Rockin' Jellybean: Rockin'Jelly Bean is a mysterious and highly influential Japanese illustrator known for his bold, stylized depictions of women, often blending elements of pin-up, lowbrow, and underground art. Always masked in a luchador-style disguise, his true identity remains an enigma, adding to his mystique. His artwork is heavily inspired by 1960s and 1970s American pop culture, drawing influences from pulp magazines, vintage movie posters, and retro erotica. Rockin'Jelly Bean has cultivated a cult following worldwide by extending his artistry into fashion, merchandise, and music, collaborating with brands like Vans and Medicom Toy, as well as designing posters for cult films and concerts. His work has been showcased in galleries across Japan and internationally.

Junko Mizuno: Having grown up in Tokyo, Junko Mizuno is a self-taught artist recognized for her unique visual iconography of powerful and often sexy women. Although her art refuses to be categorized, much of it is based on Japanese pop culture from '70s and '80s with the sources of her inspiration stemming from fetish art, folk art, religious art, psychedelic art, pin-up art, advertising art, vintage toys, fashion, comic, food, nature, movies, TV shows, video games… almost everything that surrounds her. Currently residing in San Francisco, she is constantly working on new comics, paintings, illustrations, and product designs ranging from toy figures to T-shirts. Her work has been featured in stores, museums, and fine art galleries around the world. Motivated by the pure pleasure of creating art, she celebrates the power of women and creates a universe of them, full of energy, both positive and negative.
