DLE's Itoshi no Muco Anime Debuts on October 3

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins

This year's 19th issue of Kodansha's Evening magazine is revealing on Tuesday that the third anime based on Takayuki Mizushina's Itoshi no Muco (Lovely Muco!) manga will premiere on TV Tokyo on October 3. The series will also air on TV Hokkaido, TV Aichi, TV Osaka, TV Setouchi, and TVQ Broadcasting Kyushu. The anime will air on Saturdays at 9:14 a.m. The issue will also reveal that DLE Inc. (Thermae Romae, Glass no Kamen Desu ga) is animating the series.

The manga depicts the life of the pet dog Muco and his owner Komatsu, who lives in his glass-making workshop in the mountains.

The show stars:

Satoshi Hino as Komatsu-san
Hitomi Yoshida as Muco
Sumire Uesaka as Rena-chan
Junji Majima as Ushikō-san
Keiji Fujiwara as Bōda-san
Kaori Nazuka as Shinohara-san
Yū Kobayashi as Tamaki-kun
Hiroki Takahashi as Mutō-sensei

The manga already inspired two seasons of the Lovely Movie: Itoshi no Muco anime shorts on Fuji TV. The first season ran for 21 episodes from July to December 2013, and the second season ran for 22 episodes from April to October last year. Takenori Mihara helmed both seasons in Douga Kubo.

Mizushina launched the manga in Kodansha's Evening magazine in 2011. The manga ranked #6 on the 2013 list of "Top 15 Recommended Manga by Bookstores." Mizushina's earlier four-panel manga Kemono to Chat also inspired an anime.
