TV anime adapts Enogizu's 4-panel manga about girl who can read minds

The official Twitter account and website for the Kotoura-san television anime announced the five main cast members on Friday. Hisako Kanemoto (Squid Girl, Smile Precure!) will star as Haruka Kotoura, while Jun Fukushima (Aquarion Evol, Tight-rope) will play her classmate Yoshihisa Manabe.

The main cast also includes Kana Hanazawa (Nisemonogatari, To Love-Ru) as Yuriko Mifune, Yurika Kubo (Love Live! School idol project, Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse) as Hiyori Moritani, and Hiro Shimono (Ben-To, Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts) as Daichi Muroto.

The series will adapt Enogizu's four-panel online romantic comedy manga of the same name. The school fantasy story follows Haruka Kotoura, a girl who recently transfered to a new school. Kotoura happens to be able to read people's minds, and she joins the school's ESP club.

Masahiko Ohta (Minami-ke, Mitsudomoe, Yuruyuri) is directing the anime at the studio AIC Classic. Takashi Aoshima (Minami-ke, Mitsudomoe, Yuruyuri) is in charge of the series scripts, while Takaharu Okuma (Mitsudomoe, Hanaukyo Maid-tai) is serving as the character designer and chief animation director.

The manga has been running on Micro Magazine's website Manga Goccha (Manga Got a Chance), and Micro Magazine has published three compiled book volumes.

The anime is slated to premiere in Japan in January 2013.
