Series for young boys based on Spanish toy line

Production and distribution studio Marvista Entertainment announced on Thursday that it has acquired the worldwide distribution rights for Asahi Production's Heroes ~Legend of Battle Disks~ anime project.

The project launched with collaboration from Spain's Magic Box Int. Toys. The 26-episode animated series is based on Magic Box's line of toys targeted at boys ages 5-12. Marvista plans to debut the series to potential partners at MIP Junior, the international kids' programming showcase in Cannes, France, on October 11-12. The series was initially slated for winter 2013.

The website describes the story of the action-adventure series:

The story is set in the galaxy located near the center of the universe. There are Planet Aernia (a planet for Heroes) and Planet Orbs (a planet for robots), governed by Orbiton, in this same galaxy.

Various countries are present in Planet Aernia; they are, Volculm (volcanic country of fire), Zylan (oceanic country of water), Elvan (green-rich country of forest), and Aleum (celestial country of clouds).

Antania, is a nucleus of all the present countries. It has an academy that fosters Heroes.

Under the reign of the Governor General, Antania upholds a national policy to train Heroes to prevent Planet Aernia to be infringed by the Dark Desire.

Heroes are not only the reliable source of battle who have special abilities to freely use the battle discs, but also a symbol of unfailing justice.

Masahiro Hosoda (Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, Nangoku Shounen Papuwa-kun) is directing the series off a story by Junki Takegami (Naruto Shippūden, Yu-Gi-Oh!), and Yoshihiro Nagamori (Bakugan Battle Brawlers, B-Legend! Battle Bedaman) is designing the characters. Kosuke Harada and Hiroaki Taneoka are producing the series at Asahi Production.

Marvista also distributes all six Digimon series outside of Asia.
