Animax Asia simulcasts both anime on Fridays, Saturdays

Southeast Asian channel Animax Asia began streaming two new English-subtitled commercials for the Flip Flappers and Poco's Udon World anime on Thursday.

Animax Asia describes Flip Flappers:

Flip Flappers is a sci-fi comedy series that promises to make you challenge your perception of normalcy! The story begins when the studious, goody-two-shoes Cocona makes an unusual new friend in Papika, a strange girl who is determined to find a mysterious wish-granting crystal known as the “Shard of Mimi”. Their search for the crystal takes them into the whole new realm of Pure Illusion, where they encounter unexpected obstacles at every turn.

The anime premiered in Japan on October 7, and Animax Asia is currently airing the episodes of the anime as it airs in Japan on Fridays at 6:30 p.m. in Jakarta and Bangkok, and 7:30 p.m. in Singapore and the Philippines.

Pure Illusionist is credited with the original work for the series. Kiyotaka Oshiyama (animation director for Space Dandy, Dennō Coil, Xam'd: Lost Memories) is directing the anime at Studio 3Hz (Celestial Method, Dimension W). Takashi Kojima (Your Lie in April, Kokoro Connect animation director) is designing the characters and serving as chief animation director, and tanu (original character design for Tari Tari, The Rolling Girls) is the conceptual artist. Infinite is producing the series.

ZAQ is performing the show's opening theme song "Serendipity," and TO-MAS feat. Chima is performing the ending theme song "FLIP FLAP FLIP FLAP."

Animax Asia describes Poco's Udon World:

After his father's death, 30-year-old Sota Tawara returns to his hometown to take over the family's udon business. To his surprise, he finds a lost child with raccoon ears and a tail sleeping inside a cooking pot. Sota becomes the caregiver for the child, Poco, and gradually learns about his secrets. A heart-warming friendship begins as the duo ventures through Kagawa, otherwise known as the “Udon Kingdom”, discovering the sights and sounds of his hometown that Sota never knew.

The anime premiered in Japan on October 9, and Animax Asia is currently airing the episodes of the anime as it airs in Japan on Sundays at 7:30 p.m. in Jakarta, and 8:30 p.m. in Singapore and the Philippines.

Seiki Takuno (Sekkō Boys, Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches) is directing the anime at LIDEN FILMS. Natsuko Takahashi (My Love Story!!, Moyashimon, 07-Ghost) is in charge of series composition, and Eriko Itō (Sekkō Boys, Danchigai, Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches) is serving as both the chief animation director and the character designer. Yukari Hashimoto (Mr. Osomatsu, Yuri Kuma Arashi) is composing the music and Yota Tsuruoka (Free! - Iwatobi Swim Club, K-ON!) is serving as sound director. The "piano rock band" Weaver performs the show's opening theme song, and the four-member pop band Goodwarp performs the ending theme song.

The anime is based on Nodoka Shinomaru's "heartwarming fantasy" manga Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari (The Udon Country's Golden Furball). Shinomaru launched the manga in Shinchosha's Comic Bunch magazine in 2012, and Shinchosha published the manga's eighth compiled volume in October.
