Florida Anime Experience Celebrates Japanese Pop Culture in 2013

FLORIDA ANIME EXPERIENCE WELCOMES NEW GUESTS, NEW EVENTS, AND A FREE TRIP TO LOS ANGELES IN 2013!
Now in its third year, Orlando's “anime convention about ANIME” continues to focus on Japanese pop culture in Florida.

(ORLANDO, January 21, 2013) Florida Anime Experience, the southeast's “anime convention about ANIME,” will return for its third year on Memorial Day Weekend, May 24-26, 2013, to the International Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. The three day event is a celebration of Japanese pop culture encompassing animation, manga (Japanese graphic novels,) music, video games, and more. Keeping with the event's “Legends of Anime” theme from previous years, the Guest of Honor in 2013 is Maile Flanagan - the voice of one of anime's most recognizable characters: Naruto.

(Previous Guests of Honor have been Steve Blum, the voice of “Spike Spiegel” from Cowboy Bebop in 2011 and Terri Hawkes - in her first ever United States convention appearance - the voice of “Sailor Moon” from the internationally know anime Sailor Moon in 2012.)

Joining Ms. Flanagan as Guests for Florida Anime Experience 2013 are celebrity voice actors Cassandra Lee Morris (the voice of Ritsu in K-ON!), Melodee M. Spevack (the voice of Lady Devimon in Digimon), Michael McConnohie (the voice of D in Vampire Hunter D.)

The convention will offer a variety of activities and events throughout the weekend including Florida's only exclusively Japanese video game room. Attendees will have the opportunity to play video game systems both current (XBox 360) and classic (Famicom) featuring a number of games that were never released in North America. Florida Anime Experience will also feature all the elements fans have come to enjoy at these types of conventions: an anime viewing room, Artist Alley, contests, dance parties, fan panels, a vendors room, and more.

In 2013, Florida Anime Experience will be offering the chance for one lucky cosplayer (i.e. attendee in costume) to visit Los Angeles, California! The winner of this year's costume contest will win a trip (airfare, hotel, and four day admission) to Anime Expo® 2013 at the Los Angeles Convention Center in July to compete in the costume contest at the largest anime convention in North America.

Advance tickets are available online at www.FloridaAnime.com. Tickets at the door are $20 for Friday or Sunday, $25 for Saturday, and $40 for the weekend. Children under 3 get in for Free! with a paid adult.
