Wakana Yanai's Cinderella Closet manga is inspiring a live-action series which will premiere on the TBS network's Drama Stream programming block in July.

Seven Seas publishes the manga in English, and it describes the story:

The romantic story of a plain country girl who's crushing on her handsome coworker...and her transformation by an unconventional and stylish "fairy godmother."

Haruka is a "plain jane" who left the countryside to start her college life in Tokyo. She's secretly in love with Kurotaki, a coworker at her part-time job, but she lacks the self-confidence to confess her feelings to him. Then she meets Hikaru, a glamorous but sharp-tongued fashionista who begrudgingly agrees to play "fairy godmother" for Haruka. However, there's more to Hikaru than meets the eye!

Ayako Katō (Chihayafuru, Stitch!: Itazura Alien no Daibōken) and Satsuki Orito are writing the scripts, and Ryōsuke Fukawa, Kana Torii, and Hironobu Okano are directing the episodes. TBS Sparkle is handling production of the live-action series.

The series will air on Tuesdays at 23:58 (effectively, Wednesdays at 12:58 a.m.), although the start time will vary in some regions, and it will also stream on the TVer and TBS Free services after broadcast.

Yanai launched the manga in Shueisha's Margaret magazine in June 2019, and ended it with the eighth volume on February 25, 2022. Seven Seas began releasing the manga in print and digitally in April 2023, and it released the eighth and final volume in January.
