Fairy Tail Manga Creator Hiro Mashima Lists His Top 5 Games of 2025

Manga creator Hiro Mashima (Rave Master, Fairy Tail, Eden's Zero, DEAD ROCK) posted his top five games of 2025 (so far) on August 9. Taking the top spot is Death Stranding 2 followed by Clair Obscure: Expedition 33 in second and Donkey Kong Bananza in third. The fourth and fifth place spots were taken by The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy and Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time. Mashima also notes he's been obsessed with Monster Hunter Rise as well, despite it coming out four years ago.

As of press time Mashima has received 36 replies, most of which are fans suggesting other games the manga creator should try and voicing their appreciation of the games on his list. Among the replies, one jokingly asked if Mashima has “tried the Eden's Zero Game? Of your Eden's Zero.” Another asked if the manga creator enjoyed the latest Monster Hunter game, Monster Hunter Wilds.

Hiro Mashima has worked on several manga series since his debut. His current work, DEAD ROCK, began serialization in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine in July 2023.
