Naoya Kurisu Reveals Kinuginu no Hanayuki 3D CG Anime Short Film

Director Naoya Kurisu and the Japanese independent animation label Hand to Mouse. revealed the Kinuginu no Hanayuki (Frost Flowers After a Night of Frolicking) 3D CG-animated short film on Thursday. The film will open in Japan on October 17, screening alongside a digitally remastered version of Kurisu and Hand to Mouse.'s earlier Sleep Tight My Baby, Cradled in the Sky (Nemure Omoi Ko Sora no Shitone ni) film. Kinuginu no Hanayuki will screen with a modern Japanese dub, but a period-accurate Japanese dub is also planned for release at a later date. The short film is listed as 15 minutes in length.

The film is a romance ghost story based on the Konjaku Monogatari collection of Heian era Japanese tales. The story begins when Tokimasa visits the house of a woman he once abandoned, there finding the abandoned corpse of the woman, as well as an eerie light. Fearing that he was cursed by the woman as she died, Tokimasa enlists the help of the onmyōji exorcist Kamo no Tadayuki.
Ryūichi Kijima plays Tokimasa in the film. Chihiro Ishiguro will voice Ohama. Taketora and Orine Fukushima will also star in the film.
Naoya Kurisu is directing the film at Hand to Mouse., and is scriptwriting the film. Kawagen is composing the music. Isao Kajitani is the sound director. Eiji Hotta is the audio engineer. Emi Takanashi is credited for sound effects.
Kurisu's Sleep Tight My Baby, Cradled in the Sky film screened in Japan in April 2015. Kurisu is also credited for 3D model cooperation for the Undead Murder Farce anime.
