1st Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Film Gets Early Screenings in U.S. for Crunchyroll Mega/Ultimate Fan Subscribers

Crunchyroll, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Aniplex will screen the first film in theaters, including IMAX and other premium large screen formats, in the United States and Canada on September 12. The film will screen in Japanese with English subtitles and with an English dub. Actor Channing Tatum (Magic Mike, 21 Jump Street) will play Keizo in the English dub.
The first film opened in Japan on July 18 and sold 3,843,613 tickets for 5,524,298,500 yen (about US$37.22 million) in its first three days. Counting the film's take for the Marine Day holiday on July 21, the film sold 5,164,348 tickets and earned 7,315,846,800 yen (about US$49.30 million) over the four-day long weekend.
The film has sold 15,698,202 tickets for 22,072,191,500 yen (about US$148.7 million) in its 25 days at the Japanese box office. With the latest box office numbers, the film has now surpassed One Piece Film Red as the #6 highest-earning film of all time in Japan. By contrast, Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train sold over 15 million tickets for over 20.4 billion yen (about US$197 million at the time) after its first 24 days. The film opened in October 2020.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle - Akaza Sairai is playing on 443 screens (a franchise record) throughout Japan, including IMAX screenings. Outside Japan, Aniplex aims for the new film to play in over 150 countries and regions, which is wider than the franchise's previous world tour of over 145 countries and regions.
The first television anime of Koyoharu Gotouge's Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga premiered in April 2019. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Train Arc, a seven-episode arc that adapts the Mugen Train film, premiered in October 2021. The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc (Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yūkaku-hen) television anime then premiered in December 2021 with a one-hour special. The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc anime premiered in April 2023 with a one-hour special and aired for 11 episodes. The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc anime premiered with a one-hour special in May 2024, and ended with a 60-minute-long eighth episode in June 2024.
Gotouge launched the manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in February 2016. The manga ended in May 2020. Shueisha published the manga's 23rd and final compiled book volume in December 2020. Viz Media published the manga in English. Shueisha announced on July 17 that the manga has exceeded 200 million copies in circulation worldwide (including digital copies).
