WEBTOON Entertainment and its Korean production arm Studio N's webtoon-based comedy film My Daughter is a Zombie has become the fastest movie of 2025 in Korea to pass the two million admissions milestone — reaching it in six days, according to the Korean Film Council.
The live-action film opened on July 30 and scored the year's biggest opening day at the Korean box office with 430,000 admissions, surpassing the previous record set by Mission Impossible: Final Reckoning.
The film also achieved the highest opening day admissions ever for a theatrical comedy in Korean cinema history.
Based on Yoon-chang Lee's hit webtoon series, which has amassed over 500 million global views, the comedy follows a devoted father on a top-secret mission to protect his daughter — the last surviving zombie on Earth. The film stars Jung-suk Cho, Jung-eun Lee, and Yu-ri Choi.
My Daughter is a Zombie opened in theaters across the U.S. and Canada on August 8. JBG Pictures USA is distributing the film in North America. Contents Panda is releasing the film elsewhere internationally.
