Sora to Umi no Aida Anime Listed With 12 Episodes

Amazon is listing a six-volume release for the television anime of ForwardWorks' Sora to Umi no Aida (The Space Between the Sky and the Sea) smartphone game, and the releases list 12 episodes for the anime. The listings list release dates of January 9, February 2, March 2, April 2, May 2, and June 4 for the volumes.
The anime will premiere on Tokyo MX and Sun TV on October 3 at 24:00 (effectively October 4 at 12:00 a.m.), before later airing on AT-X, BS Fuji, and RCC Chūgoku Broadcasting. The anime will stream in Japan on d Anime Store (Docomo Anime Store).
Atsushi Nigorikawa (Anime De Training! Ex, Love Tyrant) is directing the anime at TMS Entertainment, and Takashi Yamada (Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture, Ashita no Nadja, Danchi Tomoo) is in charge of series composition. Shuuhei Yamamoto (Anime De Training! Ex, Battle Girl High School) is drawing the animation character designs based on Kazuyuki Ueda's original designs. Kurō Ishihara is the mechanical designer. Asami Tachibana is composing the music.
The story is set in Onomichi, Hiroshima in the year 20XX. Fish disappear from the sea around the world and only whales live in the ocean. The Ministry of Fishery decides to set up giant experimental Universe Fish Tanks in space. The Onomichi Universe Fishery Union is established and begins to train space fishermen. Female fishermen are in demand due to the strengthening of an equal employment law for men and women. Six new female space fishermen are selected, and the story centers on supporting their growth.
