EX-ARM TV Anime Premieres in Summer 2020

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Manga artist Shinya Komi posted on Twitter on Thursday an image of the cover of the 14th compiled book volume of his EX-ARM manga, which includes a wraparound jacket band that reveals the series' anime will premiere in summer 2020. The 14th volume of the manga will ship on August 19.

The manga's crime battle story centers on high school student Akira Natsume. Only his brain is saved when he is involved in a traffic accident, and it later becomes part of an advanced weapon. Akira cooperates with the police's EX-ARM countermeasure division in order to regain his lost memories and body.

Komi launched the manga with HiRock's story in Grand Jump in February 2015 as a remake of his earlier EX-VITA manga. The series moved to the Shonen Jump+ website and app in December 2017 and ended on June 26. Shueisha published the manga's 13th compiled book volume on April 19.

A new manga tentatively titled EX-ARM EX will launch in Shueisha's Grand Jump Mucha magazine on August 28.

Atarō Kumo (novels of Hinomaru Sumo, live-action Teiichi no Kuni film) wrote EX-ARM the Novel Deus Ex Machina, the manga's first novel adaptation, which debuted last December.
