Is It Worth Reading?

Oh my god this might be one of the edgiest things I've ever read in my entire life! I almost don't believe it's real, considering it's been a while since I've seen a writer go out of his way to make his heroes appear this cutthroat and vengeful. The overall premise is admittedly a little bit confusing, but the general gist is that the would-be hero of our story apparently got betrayed by everybody that he was supposed to be helping and was killed by them, cursing at the sky as the darkness took over. Then he wakes up and back at the beginning with all the knowledge of what had transpired. So now we technically have a hero that's going on a dismemberment spree towards characters that technically haven't done anything bad to him yet. This gives me a lot of mixed feelings overall especially when you consider just how bloody the material is. I'm not squeamish to violence or anything but considering the fact that the first volume doesn't really go into the specifics of what this character was like before he was betrayed or even how he was betrayed, you're spending most of this volume just watching torture porn. If that's what you're into then by all means this is probably a great volume for you. Personally, I need a little bit more than just aggressive anger with little context for over 100 pages. Shield Hero has got nothing on this.
