50 Years of Super Sentai Emerges in New Form – as Underwear

Japanese underwear brand Hipshop announced official Super Sentai print underwear on June 18. The lineup celebrates the franchise's 50th anniversary with underwear for all 49 Super Sentai series to date.

The underwear comes in both adult and children's sizes. The adult sizes will have 49 sets and feature the respective teams, their main robot, and logo on the front and back side. Six sets of children's underwear will be available. The six Super Sentai teams featured on the children's sizes are the first series ever (Himitsu Sentai Gorenger), and the five most recent ones (Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger, Avataro Sentai Donbrothers, Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger, Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger, No. 1 Sentai Gozyuger).

The packaging evokes a DVD or Blu-ray box art with visuals from each Super Sentai series. Fans can order each one separately or go full-on nostalgic with a complete 49-pack set.

Fans who purchase the underwear in-store will receive one of two Super Sentai shopping bags. The first bag features all 49 Reds, with the second featuring the first and latest series, Himitsu Sentai Gorenger and No. 1 Sentai Gozyuger.

The Super Sentai underwear series will go on sale on June 27. Children's pairs cost 2,500 yen each, adult pairs 2,800 yen, and the complete 49-pack adult size set for 125,500 yen (about US$17, US$19, and $855, respectively).
