Oscars' Academy Museum to Hold Ponyo Exhibition Next February
posted on by Ken Iikura-Gross
The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures (from the folks who hand out the Oscars) announced more materials that Studio Ghibli donated to the Museum will go on display from February 2026 to January 2027. The “Studio Ghibli's Ponyo” exhibition will feature over 100 hand-picked materials by Studio Ghibli, including art boards, posters, a Studio Ghibli animation desk, and original hand drawings by Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli. The exhibition will also include an “interactive animation table, where guests can create their own animated sequences.”

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures received the materials from Studio Ghibli in late October 2024.
The museum opened in September 2021 with an earlier exhibition devoted to Miyazaki's entire career.
